Tommy McCook, born in 1927 in La Habana, was a Jamaican saxophonist and flautist. He is best known as a founding member of The Skatalites, an iconic group that played a major role in the evolution of ska, reggae, and rocksteady. McCook also directed The Supersonics for Duke Reid and participated in many sessions for Bunny Lee and The Revolutionaries in the 1970s. His discography includes albums such as "The Authentic Ska Sound of Tommy McCook" (1998) and "Reggae In Jazz" (2013).

In addition to his work with The Skatalites, McCook recorded several solo albums, including "Funky Reggae" and "Brass Rockers". His music continues to influence many artists in the reggae genre.
