Ernest Ranglin is a Jamaican guitarist born in Robins Hall. He has explored various musical styles including dub, reggae, and rocksteady. Ranglin began his career as a session guitarist and music director for several Jamaican record labels, including Studio One and Island Records. He played on many early ska recordings and helped create the rhythmic style that defines the genre. His discography includes albums such as "Two Colors" (2022), "With Friends Playing Guitar" (2021), and "Monty Ernest Sly Robbie Live in Tokyo" (2020).

Ranglin is noted for his chordal and rhythmic approach that blends jazz, mento, and reggae with percussive guitar solos incorporating rhythm 'n' blues and jazz inflections.
