Saga is a Canadian rock band from Oakville, Ontario, formed in 1977 by Michael Sadler and Jim Crichton. The band draws influences from hard rock, blues, funk, electronic, and classical music. Saga is known for its extensive use of keyboards, often featuring three musicians playing simultaneously. It is one of the most successful neo-prog bands internationally, alongside Marillion and Pendragon. Saga was the first Canadian rock band to perform beyond the Iron Curtain. Notable successes include the album "Worlds Apart" (1981), which reached the top of the charts with the hit "On The Loose". The band has undergone numerous lineup changes over the years, with Ian and Jim Crichton being the only original members to appear on every album.
