Patrick Watson (born October 8, 1979 in Lancaster, California) is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Montreal, Quebec. He leads a band also named Patrick Watson, which blends cabaret pop and classical music influences with indie rock, drawing comparisons to artists like Rufus Wainwright and Pink Floyd. The band was formed in 2002 and released their debut album, Just Another Ordinary Day, in 2003. Their album Close to Paradise (2006) gained them international recognition. The group has since released several albums, including Wooden Arms (2009), Adventures In Your Own Backyard (2012), and Love Songs for Robots (2015), all under the Secret City Records label.
