The Five Man Electrical Band (known as The Staccatos from 1963 to 1968) is a Canadian rock band from Ottawa, Ontario, formed in 1969. The band had many hits in Canada, including the top 10 entries "Half Past Midnight" (1967) (as The Staccatos), "Absolutely Right" (1971), and "I'm a Stranger Here" (1972). They are best known internationally for their 1971 hit single "Signs", which helped to establish their reputation. Their discography includes albums such as "Initially" (1966), "A Wild Pair" (1968), and "Good‐byes and Butterflies" (1970).
