Sir Ernest Alexander Campbell MacMillan (August 18, 1893 – May 6, 1973) was a Canadian orchestral conductor, composer, and organist, recognized as Canada's only 'Musical Knight'. He is widely regarded as Canada's pre-eminent musician from the 1920s through the 1950s, having made significant contributions to the development of music in Canada. MacMillan showed an early interest in music, composing as a child and playing the organ. He influenced virtually all aspects of Canadian musical life through his commitment to music education and involvement in numerous national organizations.
