Deborah Cox (born July 13, 1974) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer. Born and raised in Toronto, she began performing in television commercials at age 12 and entered various talent shows during her teenage years. She later became a professional backing vocalist for Celine Dion before signing with Arista Records in 1994. Her self-titled debut album was released in 1995, followed by 'One Wish' in 1998, which was certified platinum in the United States. The single 'Nobody's Supposed to Be Here' peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. Cox made her film debut in the Canadian drama 'Love Come Down' in 2000 and has appeared in several stage productions, including 'Aida' and 'The Wiz'.
