Canadian Brass is a Canadian brass quintet formed in 1970 in Toronto, Ontario, by Charles Daellenbach (tuba) and Gene Watts (trombone). The group, which has undergone several member changes over the years, currently includes Joe Burgstaller and Mikio Sasaki (trumpets), Jeff Nelsen (horn), and Keith Dyrda (trombone). Known for their use of humor in performances and irreverent attitude, Canadian Brass has performed internationally and recorded over 170 CDs and DVDs. The group is also recognized for their stage attire, which consists of formal black suits paired with white running shoes. In 2015, The Washington Post named them as one of the most popular brass ensembles in the world.
