Biography
Story
Pitchshifter are an English industrial rock band from Nottingham. Formed in 1989, the band started with bassist and vocalist Mark Clayden, and guitarists Johnny A. Carter and Stuart Toolin. Their early sound is characterized by gritty industrial metal with downtuned guitars and the use of drum machines. They are regarded as one of the originators of the genre alongside Godflesh.
Over time, their music became more melodic, incorporating influences from nu metal and drum and bass, particularly evident in their 1998 album www.pitchshifter.com, which has been compared to groups like The Prodigy. Pitchshifter has also contributed to KracRadio's programming with the track "Un-United Kingdom (20th Anniversary Brexit Edition)."
