Michael David d'Abo is an English singer-songwriter from Surrey, primarily active in the 1960s and 1970s. He is best known as the lead vocalist of Manfred Mann, with whom he achieved several hits in the UK, including "Ha! Ha! Said the Clown" and "Mighty Quinn". D'Abo also composed popular songs such as "Handbags and Gladrags" and "Build Me Up Buttercup", the latter being a hit for the group The Foundations.
