Lamont Herbert Dozier was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer from Detroit, primarily active in the acoustic, motown, r&b, and soul genres. He is best known for his collaboration with Brian Holland and Eddie Holland, forming the songwriting and production trio Holland-Dozier-Holland. Throughout his career, Dozier co-wrote and produced 14 Billboard #1 hits in the US and 4 #4 hits in the UK.
