Biography

Story

Jape is an Irish indie-pop group formed in 2003 in Dublin. Initially a side project of Richie Egan, a member of The Redneck Manifesto, the band has released eight albums, including "Cosmosphere" (2003), "The Monkeys in the Zoo Have More Fun Than Me" (2004), "Ritual" (2008), "Ocean of Frequency" (2011), "This Chemical Sea" (2015), "Sentinel" (2019), "9K HI Vol. 1" (2022), and "Endless Thread" (2023). Their discography also includes the EP "Jape Is Grape" (2007) and several singles such as "Floating" and "Phil Lynott".

The band has performed at various festivals and events, including Glastonbury, Electric Picnic, Lovebox, and Hard Working Class Heroes. Jape also supported The Flaming Lips at Belsonic in Belfast in August 2008. Their track "Lashing Through The Minutes" is featured in KracRadio's programming, showcasing their impact on the contemporary music scene.
