808 Dot Pop unveils their EP "neofuturism" inspired by architecture
The Belgian electronic project 808 Dot Pop, led by Passenger S of Metroland, has just released their new EP titled "neofuturism EP" under the Alfa Matrix label. Available since November 6, 2026, on Bandcamp, this three-track opus continues the architectural concept that characterizes the artist's recent productions. Each track of the EP pairs an architectural style with an iconic building: "neofuturism (l'hemisfèric)" draws inspiration from the arts complex in Valencia, "purism (maison guiette)" pays homage to Le Corbusier's Antwerp house, and "neofuturism (space needle)" evokes the famous tower in Seattle.
This new EP precedes the release of the twin albums "Minimalism" and "Maximalism", set for November 30, 2026. These albums will contain a total of 18 tracks, each named after an architectural "ism" and a specific building. The Alfa Matrix label describes "Minimalism" as the project's white album, while "Maximalism" is its black counterpart. 808 Dot Pop, launched in March 2020, already has several albums and EPs to its name, reinforcing its unique sound identity inspired by artists like Kraftwerk, Komputer, and Orbital.

Death Rights: An Electro-Industrial First Step with 'Crucify'
The Belgian label Alfa Matrix has just launched the first single from the new dark electro project, Death Rights, titled 'Crucify'. Released on November 6, 2026, this digital single features two tracks: the centerpiece 'Crucify' and an audacious cover of 'Get Low' by Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz, reimagined in an electro-industrial style. Split Vision returns to synthpop with 'BetaCity'
The Swedish synthpop duo Split Vision, consisting of Dan Hansson and Henric Palmqvist, has just launched their new album 'BetaCity', available since November 6, 2026, via Town And Towers Records. This ten-track opus is heavily inspired by the characteristic sound of Alphaville's 1984 album 'Forever Young'. Available in CD, vinyl, and digital formats, 'BetaCity' utilizes iconic instruments such as the Roland Jupiter-8 and the PPG Wave 2.3, and incorporates a string orchestra section to enrich its arpeggios.
The tracks on the album explore various themes, from urban division in 'Shadows on the Wall' to the political tensions of the Cold War in 'Cold War', with lyrics dating back to the 1980s. 'Out of Nowhere', the first single, offers a more melodic vibe, while 'Drums of Freedom' closes the album on a hopeful note in the face of war. The album also includes 'Laufen durch die Straßen', a nod to 1980s Hamburg, and 'A Split Vision', which addresses romantic breakups.
Formed in 1985 in Kristianstad, Split Vision had an early career marked by influences from Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys, before disbanding in the late 1980s. Reformed in 2019, the band released 'Among the Stars' in 2020, marking their return with a cosmic sound. With 'BetaCity', Hansson and Palmqvist continue to revisit and reinvent the synthpop sounds that made them famous.

OMD celebrates 45 years of a timeless masterpiece
The legendary album "Architecture & Morality" by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) turns 45 years old today, November 6, 2026. Released in 1981 under the Dindisc label, this opus marked a turning point in the British band's career, propelling them from the margins of new wave to the top of the UK charts. Recorded in various iconic studios such as the Gramophone Suite in Liverpool, the Manor Studio in Shipton-on-Cherwell, and the Mayfair Studios in London, the album was produced by Richard Manwaring with the collaboration of the band and Mike Howlett.
Composed of nine tracks, "Architecture & Morality" generated three successful singles: "Souvenir", "Joan of Arc", and "Maid of Orleans (The Waltz Joan of Arc)". These tracks not only shone in the UK charts, but "Maid of Orleans" also became the best-selling single in Germany in 1982. With worldwide sales exceeding 4 million copies, the album received Platinum certifications in the UK and Spain, and Gold in the Netherlands.
The cover design, by Peter Saville and Brett Wickens, is inspired by the book "Morality and Architecture" by David Watkin.
